IT Solutions manages computer networks and other technology for small to medium-size businesses in Eastern Iowa and beyond. We are located in North Liberty, right off I-380, and have been in business for almost 37 years.
We are currently hiring a Computer Network Engineer. While the primary work will be on physical servers, virtual servers, workstations, network switches, firewalls, etc., we also work on business phone systems, security cameras, and other business technology. We have a diverse team and don’t expect everyone to work on every different technology we support.

While we do a lot of things differently at IT Solutions that makes it a much better place to work, at the top of the list is over 70% of the work we do is proactive, not reactive. Technicians working here do not spend the majority of their day reacting to customer problems.
Having interviewed people in the IT field for decades, we find that many are frustrated with their current job for a variety of reasons.

At IT Solutions we understand this. We work hard to give employees a healthy work/home life balance including limiting overtime and paying AT LEAST 1.5x regular pay for any time over 40 hours a week. We understand that people have different things going on in their personal lives and we try and make accommodations when possible. Some of the things we have done or are doing include: coming in at 8:30 instead of 8:00 to allow the employee to drive their kids to school, leaving early on occasion to attend a child's sporting event, taking an extended lunch once a week to accommodate a family appointment, and many more.
At IT Solutions, our primary focus is taking care of our customers technology needs, and as long as we are getting that done as a team, small changes such as those listed above, are generally not a problem.
Requirements: Advanced knowledge of Windows Servers, AD, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN, ESXi, VLANs, Wireless Networks, Managed Switches, and Firewalls. We also require you to have a passion for taking care of our customers, and a passion for telling the truth at all times to match our practice of doing the same for our employees and customers.
Hours: In addition to the regular M-F 8-5 hours, you will also be required to work 3-4 shifts outside of regular business hours each week. This may entail coming in at 7 am on a weekday, or being on-call on a week night, weekend or holiday. *We average less than 10 customer contacts per month during on-call hours, so interruptions are minimal. **We try and give techs several afternoons a month off to take care of personal things that need to be done between 8-5 M-F, or to play a round of golf if that is their thing.
